Stay at home mom to a toddler son.
1. Kitchen scissors. Preschoolers need bite sized food. Instead of using a cutting board and a knife anytime I needed to cut something up, I use a good pair of kitchen scissors. I travel everywhere with them. Their only purpose in the kitchen is to cut up little bits of food and they save me so much time.
2. Halloween party. Do yourself a favor and sign up to do the Halloween party. It’s the beginning of the year, expectations are low, and the theme is super easy. The kids will have fun no matter what, and you won’t be left feeling like you have to top the last party.
3. Scholastic books. Buy the books. They are great prices, make great gifts for birthdays or holidays and the school gets free books in return. You can supply books for every level of reader in your house from one website. And did I mention the prices are great?
4. Toddler 411. This book is an awesome follow-up to Baby 411. Same format, same great information, just geared toward toddlers. It’s always my first stop when I have a question.
5. Mini grabber. This thing has been critical for long road trips with a kid in a car seat. So much easier to grab their stuffed animal, pacifier, matchbox car, or anything else they drop along the way. It also makes my son laugh every time I use it.
6. Snack at noon pick up. My son can be a monster at preschool pick up at noon. He is tired and hungry and grumpy from being away from me. I always have an applesauce squeezer or something in the car of him to take the edge off until we can get home and eat lunch. It also helps keep him awake long enough to get home and get a good lunch so he can take a long nap.
